-
Describe Yourself:I have written Fantasy stories since childhood; eager to share the fantastical tales that have been percolating in my brains for three decades. My experiences, having lived in various parts of hte world and absorbed many cultures, are infused into the strange windings of my imagination, and ultimately into the worlds I build.
I was schooled overseas and stuied languages. I have numerous 'nerdly' pursuits, incuding a violent obsession with all things Regency, a love for good Science Fiction and Fantasy, and a love of creative activities like sewing and graphic design. Jean Auel, S.M. Stirling and Jane Austen (of course) are among my favourite authors.
I live near Mount Hood in Oregon, in a cabin with two unruly dogs, and an even more unruly husband . -
On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:Inspiration, networking, to be challenged and exposure.
Interests
-
Favorite Music, Artists, Genres:Classical and Baroque, some eighties stuff, some more modern music; I like most music barring metal and hiphop. Frankly, I've just reached that threshold in life where you just stop understanding the younger generation's tastes and motivations, and I sure as hell am not going to act like it's relevant to me just to cling to my youth; I really feel embarrassed for people my age who do that.
-
Favorite Books, Writers, Genres:Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Persuasion (Not too keen on Mansfield Park or Northanger Abbey but I will still read them twice a year); Dies the Fire is my favourite recent book. I've taken to reading self-published works now, and am mimicking the reading list of one of my reviewers., Jane Austen, Jean Auel; and any author who can capture my attention for 250+ pages; it's not as easy as it seems. :)
-
Favorite Movies, Actors, Genres:My tastes change frequently; some remain on the list, others get replaced; but here it is as of this moment: , 1) Conspiracy Theory 2) Serenity 3) Rebecca 4) Galaxy Quest; yes, they border on nerdy, but I have come to accept who I am and am now comfortable with it. I won't aspire to pretense and start name the cliché erudite movies for the sake of appearances. I enjoy what I enjoy. :D

Favorite TV Shows, Actors:
-
Interests and Activities:The Oregon Regency Society, Jeeps, Sewing, crafts, writing (duh), drawing (on paper and on Photoshop), gardening, reading, laughing, having the occasional glass of wine, and Regency reenacting (don't ask). I'm kind of a stick-in-the-mud. I'd rather do fuddy-duddy things than leap off buildings with a bungee attached to my legs, or go whitewater rafting. I'm a great appreciator of Peace and Quiet.

"make a grand gesture to show how contrite you are; but not so much that you look like a groveling fool. It's a fine line. ::smirk::"
Why does this make me think your husband would know all the ins and outs of being contrite?
